Enrollment

Apply to the Child Development Center

Policy

We provide care for the children of students and employees of Western Washington University. Children two through five years of age, by our August 31 enrollment deadline, qualify for enrollment in the program. Children of school age, enrolled in public or private schools, are not accepted for care. Families who qualify for care will not be discriminated on the basis of race, creed, color, national origin, marital status, gender, sexual orientation, class, age, religion or disability.

Options

Our center requires that at least half of our slots must be filled by full time children.  After the part time slots are filled, only full time slots will be available.  Those who designate full or part time in the fall may keep that designation for the academic year.  Exceptions will be considered as part time openings become available; full time is always encouraged.

  • Full time option: Families contract in whole hours from 30-45 hours per week.
  • Part time option: This option allows for care for 29 hours or less per week.

Each option entitles the user to create a schedule of their child's arrival and departure times for each day of the week.

We request no drop offs or pick up times between the hours of 9:30 am to 11:30 am.

These schedules are finalized by the end of the add/drop period. The schedule created then becomes the family's schedule for the entire quarter and agreements are written reflecting the full or part time option. Hours exceeding the full or part time agreement are billed at $5.00 for students and $6.50 for non-students per hour.

Applications are accepted year round.  Once you have completed  the enrollment form you will be placed on a waiting list. Openings in our program are on a first come first served basis, with priority given to students. We recommend getting on the waiting list as soon as you know you are going to attend Western.

Families with children two to five years of age are eligible for enrollment. To enter: children must be two by August 31, of the year of enrollment and not old enough for enrollment in public school. Children must have all immunizations up to date and a current physical examination. The benefits of this program are available to all children without regard to race, creed, color, national origin, marital status, gender, sexual orientation, class, age, religion or disability.
