Policy

We provide care for the children of students and employees of Western Washington University. Alumni enrolled or graduated are dependent on capacity and at the discretion of the Director.  Children 12 months through 5 years of age, by our August 31 enrollment deadline, qualify for enrollment in the program. Children of school age, enrolled in public or private schools, are not accepted for care. Families who qualify for care will not be discriminated on the basis of race, creed, color, national origin, marital status, gender, sexual orientation, class, age, religion, or disability.

Options

Our center strives to maintain at least 80% of our slots for full-time children.  After the part-time slots are filled, only full-time slots will be available.  Those who are designated full or part-time in the fall may keep that designation for the academic year.  Exceptions will be considered as part-time openings become available; full-time is always encouraged.

  • Full-time option: Families contract in whole hours from 30-45 hours per week.
  • Part-time option: This option allows for full-day care 2 or 3 days per week.

Each option entitles the user to create a schedule of their child's arrival and departure times for each day of the week.

We request no drop-offs or pick ups between the hours of 9:30 am to 11:30 am.

These schedules are finalized by the end of the add/drop period. The schedule created then becomes the family's schedule for the entire quarter and agreements are written reflecting the full or part-time option. Hours exceeding the full or part-time agreement are billed $10.00 per hour.

Applications are accepted year-round.  Once you have completed the enrollment form you will be contacted regarding availability and placed on a waiting list if necessary. Openings in our program are on a first come first served basis, with priority given to students. We recommend you contact us for availability as soon as you know you are going to attend Western.

Families with children 12 months to 5 years of age are eligible for enrollment. To enter: children must be 12 months by August 31 of the year of enrollment and not old enough for enrollment in public school. Children must have all immunizations up to date and a current physical examination. The benefits of this program are available to all children without regard to race, creed, color, national origin, marital status, gender, sexual orientation, class, age, religion or disability.
